After the Holidays are done, take time to enjoy winter in Calumet County. There are plenty of activities going on and places to visit! The Ledge View Nature Center offers snowshoeing and cross country skiing. You can rent the shoes and skiis at the nature center for a small fee. Organized skiing and snowshoeing events take place throughout the winter and are open to all. If you'd rather just walk around the nature center and take in the winter atmosphere, that's fine too. There is no fee to enter the park. Ledge View Nature Center is located at W2348 Short Road just south of Chilton. The Brillion Nature Center and Wildlife Area also offers plenty of trails to walk on for those who become restless during the winter months. Discover the birds who stick around for the cold, Wisconsin winters and view the snowy marsh. Admission to the wildlife area is free. The Brillion Nature Center is located at W1135 Deer View Road in Brillion. Calumet County Park isn't closed for the winter. In fact, it's one of Calumet County's busiest places during the winter months! Calumet County Park is home to the county's largest and tallest tubing hill! You can rent a tube for $2 and a deposit in a form of $20, a driver's license or a credit card which will be returned to you after you retrun the tube. Or bring your own tube! The tow rope fee is $3. The hill is open on weekends when there is a good amount of snow on the ground. It's open 11am-4pm. There is also another hill without a tow rope where you may use other sleds, snowboards and other snow devices. Call the Parks Activity Line before you go to make sure the hill is open at (920) 849-1494. There are over 4 miles of cross country trails ready to be skiied at the park as well! Cost is $2. The park is also linked to snowmobile trails as well. The park is located at N6150 Cty. Road EE just north of Stockbridge off of State Hwy 55. High Cliff State Park is home to miles of trails that can be used for winter hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Located at N7630 State Park Road in Sherwood, you'll need a vehicle admission sticker to get into the park. Day passes are $7.
